Kathmandu, Apr. 27: ‘Maudie’, a Canadian film, is going to be screened here on Saturday.
Nepal Cultural Film Centre is screening the Canadian film with other films under its one-day film screening programme.
Santosh Subedi, chairman of Nepal Culture Film Centre, said that with partnership of Globally Concern Center for Climate Change, the film was being screening on the occasion of the National Canadian Film Day to give a global reconginsation to the Nepali movies and its cultural diversification.
Directed by Aisling Walsh and produced by Mary Young Leckie, “Maudie” is a true story of Nova Scotia, a painter who overcomes the physical challenges of juvenile rheumatoid arthritis to become the best known and most loved folk artists of Canada.
Weaving the World (best Jury award winner by Jill Coulon and Isabelle Dupuy Chavanat), Silver Bangle (best short film winner by Roshan Bikram Thakuri) and Durgamandu (best women film winner by Madhav Raj Kharel) will be screened on the occasion, said Subedi.
